About Our Brains

About Brain Anatomy

Neurons play an important role in the brain. They are best known as nerve cells associated with central nervous system. Did you know that the CNS is made of about 100 millions neurons? Brain development process takes place faster. At times there are 250,000 neurons added in every single minute. A newborn’s brain has developed 25% as compared to an adult, but the age of 3 a dramatic growth is seen. At the age of 3, billions and trillions of cells are developed and connected. These years are the best time to groom children as parents want to do.

Brain Structure

The brain is the most complex organ in human body. Millions of neurons are connected to one another to form central nervous system. Understanding the brain structure is tough. There are 3 interconnected layers- central core, limbic and cerebral cortex. These three layers regulate human nature and his daily work activities.

The central core helps in body movement, balance, pulse, breathing, sleep etc… The limbic system regulates memory, emotional sates, behaviour, temperature of body, blood flow, sugar and various types of activities. The cerebral cortex works for thinking, emotion, planning and perception.

Neuron Structure

It is an accumulation of millions of cells. It is divided into 3 categories. Dendrites are one of the categories of neuron that thin like hair, working as electrical cables to give signals to the cell.
